A Girl, A Dress, and A Skirt

I have waited my entire sartorial life for this moment.

I feel like I have reached my fashion peek: my whole life, I have known that the day I got to wear a dress WITH a skirt I would #slay (no need for humility here it's just the truth) and here I am doing just that. Seriously though, I had an event over the past weekend that required me to wear black and silver and while I generally don't enjoy feeling obligated to wear certain attire or colors I was really excited when I found this Calvin Klein skirt on super sale. The only problem? I didn't have a top to wear with it and my level of pickiness was not conducive with my timeline.

Fast forward to the ninth hour and I had a lightbulb over the head moment: wear a dress you already have as a top! I'm not going to lie but I feel like I discovered the secret to crispy on the outside gooey on the inside grilled cheese sandwich (btw if you have the scoop, PLEASE tell me). It's the little things, I guess.

Brought To You By The 90s...

You GUYS... Are the 90s coming back for real? Like for real for real? Because I am so here for that. I can definitely go for dresses that aren't body con and REAL overalls (not the skinny jean kind). Also, skorts (skirts with shorts underneath) because they are the true definition of freedom. If the fashions of the 90s make a comeback this is what I will be wearing.

Until then, I'm loving this semi grunge-y sweater dress and bold nameplate jewelry. The bold lip adds to the nostalgia and makes me think of something the late Aaliyah would wear.

Wine for lunch....

Wine for lunch....

After a late start on a hot day, we headed out to lunch in the cutest neighborhood where my favorite ice cream spot resides. The Cock and Bull had delicious food that was great for those on a budget. While opted for a healthy roasted beet salad, the boy enjoyed a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries #jealous. Each meal had a suggested wine+beer pairing featured on the menu which was perfect for an indecisive drinker such as myself.

after eating some delicious vanilla malt ice cream (vanilla ice cream, pretzels, and malt balls yummmm), we took a very short walk along the riverfront.

It was 84 degrees and the water fountain didn't work.

Cincinnati was so beautiful, I barely wanted to leave and was so sad to say goodbye to family and friends. See you next time Cincy!
