If you're having trouble scoring a reservation for the hottest new restaurant, try checking out their brunch...
I have been trying to catch a reservation at the Revelry for what seems like months. Unfortunately my impulsive nature and the spot's growing popularity worked hand in hand at keeping my tastebuds at bay. Imagine my delight when I stopped by with the boy after Church and was able to snag a seat for a delicious Sunday brunch.
To start off, we ordered after church cocktails (because that's what everyone does after spending time with The Lord right?). I quenched my thirst with the Violet Margarita which certainly lived up to it's name in color.
The Margarita was more bitter than one that you would receive at a chain restaurant that was made using a mix but it was more that delicious and there was a sweet surprise at the end of the drink.
Before ordering, we had a nice conversation with the restaurant manager who told us all about the spot and the inspirations behind the restaurant and food. He had on the most appropriately hip + Southern outfit I believe I've ever seen. Customer service for The Revelry definitely gets an A Plus as the manager and our waitress were attentive and friendly throughout the whole visit.
I ordered The Eggs Benedict, a breakfast classic with a southern twist: fired green tomato underneath a fabulous crab cake and topped with a perfectly poached egg. This meal was proof that Southern + comfort food can be refined as well as delicious.
We left The Revelry mildly tipsy and completely satisfied. It is definitely a boozy brunch that I recommend and we will be returning.
Until next time...
